I've set up https://github.com/Growstuff so for those of you know are au fait with github, well, now you know.
For those who aren't familiar, github is a platform that allows software developers (or anyone really) to collaborate on projects by keeping track of all the files, managing different versions of your work as it changes over time, and allowing multiple people to work in parallel and then merge their work together when they're ready, without stepping on each other's toes. Version control is one of the really important foundational tools of any modern software project, and github is the platform of choice for most open source projects these days.
(A while ago, I wrote a description of version control and github in the context of another project, AO3. I'm told it's a good intro for people who have absolutely zero understanding of version control and/or github, so if that's you, then you might like to read it. There's some other stuff there about the AO3 project specifically, but you can safely ignore that if you're not interested.)
So this post re: github is mostly just an FYI, but if someone could try joining the project, that'd be nice. I'm not sure how it works with Organizations on github... there's some stuff about teams etc that I don't fully understand, so having some members to try stuff out on might be handy.
